Illinois-based Amos Industries has been manufacturing quality parts for the consumer products vertical since 1985. Specializing in casting, Amos Industries also offers world-class services in the machining, forging, stamping, powdered metal, plastic injection molding, and metal injection molding disciplines.

“We do a lot of machining, forging. Things like that,” says Derald Leuszler, sales manager at Amos Industries. “But by far, our biggest discipline is casting. We do a lot of investment castings and sand castings.”

Business Challenge

As a small company, the biggest challenge Amos Industries faced before joining MFG was generating a consistent and dependable lead generation system. “Based in the Chicago area, most of our customer base is east of the Mississippi. Expanding into those geographies west of the Mississippi — as well as the Southeast — wouldn’t be efficient through traditional means, especially not having contacts in those areas,” says Leuszler.

Solution

Being able to access MFG Buyer Profiles has helped Leuszler pinpoint buyers that fit Amos Industries’ capabilities perfectly. “I look at each buyer’s profile and the percentage of parts they award by region. If they typically award in a region I’m not competitive in, I just don’t quote on that part.”

Results

“We found our third largest customer through MFG. That particular buyer usually sources about $120,000 worth of parts from us every year.” Leuszler says there are at least four buyers he connected with through MFG that perennially contribute to Amos Industries’ bottom line. “MFG helps us identify those upper-low-end, mid-range customers in our sweet spot. We can do 100 pieces — and we love it because it brings us business — but we really love those 7,000 piece projects. With MFG, we have options.”
